Head Coach Announces Departure
Cyrus Salehi is stepping down as Liberty Common School’s head men’s soccer coach, Athletic Director Frank Russel announced on Wednesday.
In his tenure at Liberty Common School, Salehi led the men’s soccer team to a 133-31-9 overall record, eight first-place finishes in the 3A/2A Patriot League, and a State Championship title in 2017. When reflecting on his career at Liberty Coach Salehi had this to say “what I am most proud of during my tenure, is not the wins, state championship games, state title, or winning record, but the positive culture, brotherhood, and quality of amazing men we have built.”
"Coach Salehi not only created a culture of success on the field but also prioritized developing young men of character,” Russel said. “His drive to create a brotherhood amongst his players was second to none, a brotherhood on display when he led the team through unprecedented times and a COVID-19 pandemic.”
Liberty Common men’s soccer will forever be grateful for Salehi’s years of dedication and raising the program to new heights.
The school will begin the search for a replacement that can carry on the culture and tradition Coach Salehi established.
