Team Information

Great news, our Team Spirit Store is live and open for business!  CLICK HERE to go online, order t-shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, hats, etc., all with our 2026 team logo.  The deadline to purchase items is Sunday, August 2nd, which will ensure gear will arrive by the start of the season (Monday, August 17th).  We will open the store again that week for athletes who join late, but that gear won't arrive until early-to-mid September.  Please order at least one short-sleeved t-shirt (only $16 or $18) for your athlete to wear over the team uniform (racing singlet and shorts - issued the first day of practice) when traveling to meets and warming up, so that we present ourselves as a unified team.  Other gear is completely optional, but also fun (and helpful when the weather turns colder).

Here are a few other helpful announcements:

  • Registration Process.  Registration is now open for fall sports.  There are three main components to the registration process, in order to be ready for the first day of practice (8/17/2026), which can all be found by CLICKING HERE. The Blue Cards will be available for pick up from one of the front-office locations, as indicated in an email to you from Mr. Mayer within a few days of completing the other two components.  For any registration-related questions, please contact the JH Assistant Principal/Athletic Director, Mr. Jason Mayer.
  • Sports Physical Day.  The Athletic Department is sponsoring a day on Fri 7 Aug 2026 for a physician to visit the school to perform on-site physicals for only $20 per athlete.  There are still some slots left, CLICK HERE to sign up.
  • Eagles for Eagles.  The 2nd-Annual Eagles for Eagles Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, August 10th, 2026 at Ptarmigan Country Club.  This year’s event carries an especially meaningful goal: raising critical funding toward turfing Everett Field and resurfacing/re-striping the track. Tournament proceeds, combined with supporting grants and community contributions, will help make a durable, safe, and high-quality playing surface at our home venue a reality.  Please CLICK HERE to watch this short video message from the LCHS Athletic Director, Frank Russel.  CLICK HERE to register and view sponsorship opportunities.
  • Cross Country Camp.  The camp will be held Mon 10, Wed 12, and Fri 14 Aug 2026 from 8:00-9:30AM, at Everett Field.  The high-school Cross Country team will be hosting the camp, so you may hear directly from the high-school head coach, Mr. Chris Reynolds as well.  Registration information can be found by CLICKING HERE.
  • Official Season Start.  Our first official day of practice is Mon 17 Aug 2026 from 3:30-5:00PM at Everett Track and Field (1725 Sharp Point Dr). We will do a team warm up, go for a 3 mi run, do some light stretching/core strengthening, talk through season goals, and then hand out racing uniforms.
  • Parent Meeting.   Instead of attending the all-sport meeting on Thursday, we will have a parent meeting after our first practice (8/17) from 5:15 - 6:00PM in the junior-high building (1825 Sharp Point Dr).  All athletes and parents should plan to attend.
  • Practice Times.  Practices (beginning 8/17/26) will be from 3:30-5:00PM each Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at Everett Field (no Wednesday practices).  There may be occasional optional practices to run hills at Spring Canyon Park on a Saturday, or before-school practices if the afternoon weather is uncooperative.
  • Tentative Meet Schedule.  Meets are typically held once a week, either after school or on Saturdays. We provide transportation for all meets outside the city limits, pending bus availability. CLICK HERE for a tentative draft of our fall meet schedule.   Please note that the first meet is scheduled for Thu 20 Aug 2026 at Roosevelt High School.  This conflicts with the all-sport meeting as well as the ice cream social events at both k-6 campuses.  Unfortunately, that conflict is unavoidable, so it will be an optional meet.  If anyone can't make it for any reason, that is completely okay, just let me know ahead of time, please.
  • Team GroupMe.  Lastly, if you want to be informed of last-minute changes or team updates via "text", my plan is to use the GroupMe app again this season.  You can also send me quick, direct messages through the app if you have a question about your individual athlete.  To sign up for the team GroupMe, please CLICK HERE.

I will be out of the country starting tomorrow, and returning on Thu 13 Aug 2026.  If you have any follow-up questions, or need additional information, please feel free to reach out to Coach Hickman or Mr. Mayer.  Otherwise, we'll see you all on August 17th!

All the Best,

Coach Lovely

PS - There is a fun summer race that is free to all student athletes.  The annual Mountain Street Mile will be held on Fri 7 Aug 2026. CLICK HERE for registration information.

Cross-Country In Action

A group of smiling teenagers in formal attire stand holding certificates in front of a navy blue banner with gold lettering, while balloons float in the background.

Liberty Common School honored the achievements of its student-athletes at the All-Sport Athletic Banquet, held Tuesday, May 26th at Liberty Common High School. The evening brought together families, coaches, and staff to celebrate a year of hard work, growth, and success across Liberty Common's 14 varsity sports programs.
