Fall 2026 Athletics

The wait is over — Liberty Common fall sports are officially underway, and this week brings a packed slate of action as four Eagles programs hit the road (and the home course) to open their 2026 campaigns.

It all kicks off Friday when the Men's Golf team welcomes the field to Southridge Golf Course for a home tournament. The Eagles arrive with plenty of momentum, coming off a tie for fourth at the Eaton Country Club tournament, where they knotted up with 4A Windsor and finished just behind Timnath, Fossil Ridge, and defending state champion Frontier Academy. Leading the charge is returning First Team All-State golfer Gage Poulsen, who has his sights set on another big season for the Eagles.

The Cross Country team is right behind them, lining up at Spring Canyon Park for the Lobo Invite on Friday. Look for returning All-State honorees Joelle Knowles, Micah Shoemaker, and Carson Wangnild to set the pace for the Eagles right out of the gate.

Saturday brings another wave of Eagles action across the state. The Women's Volleyball team hits the road for a tournament in Wiggins, with the action beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Rounding out the weekend, the Men's Soccer team makes the trip to Denver for the Denver Christian tournament, kicking off at 2:00 p.m. Saturday — with more tournament action to follow on Tuesday, Aug. 25 and Thursday, Aug. 27. The Eagles enter the season in a new classification, having moved up to 3A this year, and they bring back a roster loaded with experience, including several returning All-Conference selections. The Coloradoan named senior Gabe McDanald a player to watch heading into the season, praising his versatility all over the pitch — capable of sliding back into a defensive role or playing up as a striker. McDanald scored from long range multiple times a year ago and pairs a strong leg with excellent touch, making him one of Liberty Common's most dangerous two-way threats as the Eagles look to extend their postseason streak to 15 straight years.
